As a former dry stone waller turned professional landscape painter, I bring a unique perspective to my work. My intimate knowledge of the landscapes and geology from which they are constructed, as well as my experience as an amateur naturalist and meteorologist, informs my art. I like to incorporate human structures within the 'wild' landscapes I paint, to reflect on the powerful natural forces at work on our planet, and to explore our own fragility. My paintings are emotional responses to the landscapes around me, inspired by the beauty of the Yorkshire Dales and the area above my hometown of Otley.
